How to avoid online banking fraud
We all are using Internet
banking, debit and credit cards, it’s become our necessity and become part of
our life style. We used to pay domestic and international merchants through net
banking, debit card or credit cards. We well known for the fact, that sharing
of confidential information, though
calls/documents such as PIN /CVV/Number
must be strictly avoided.
Now days you have seen and listen
the various types of online banking fraud which happened due to our negligence.
Have you heard the word “ Savdhani hati, Durghtna dhati” or “Prevention is
better than cure”. Submitting documents & details for processing loan or
credit cards via online or offline mode can
cost
us a lot, if they misuse.
Every crime give you a Signal
before it happen, if you may receive OTP in your mobile phone for a transaction
which you never initiated, a Call from fake bank employee or unknown person who
is asking your OTP/CVV or other details.
Even If you have apply a new credit
card, collection executive can ask for impression of old Credit card, it mean
you need to be alert.
Our negligence is weak point & invitation for committing frauds, which
finally end with Loss of lot of money
which result eye opening situation to instantly Block Debit Card /Credit Card/Net banking etc.
Activation of Debit/Credit and
Internet Banking
When you come to know, online/offline/telephonic
fraud has been happened through your Debit/Credit Cards, immediately call to
Customer card number and logged compliant against fraud transaction and requesting them to block
your account immediately, they will block your account immediately.
For blocking account, call in customer
care number and request them to deactivate your account.They will deactivate
your account and within three to five days you will receive a new Debit card at
your mailing address along with instruction to deactivate account, on your request.
You can choose
any channel to deactivate account,like immobile, Internet banking, visit to ATM
or call to Customer Care for generating debit card PIN. It require new card number,CVV, grid values printed on
the back of the card only to deactivate account quickly and effortlessly. Follow the instruction of banking portal and
get the new ATM PIN.
We need to understand that we
must never share the confidential information to any person, even if they
pretended to the employee of the bank. If possible, take insurance coverage against Credit/Debit card fraud to mitigate
the risk. Always Cross check IFS Code before online transfer and avoids
visiting late night ATM. Be alert in ATM counter, while withdrawing or depositing
money because your alertness and awareness is best weapon against fraud that will
prevent you against banking fraud.
